What we do....

Ingleby Bunny Boarding caters for short or long stay holiday boarding for rabbits and guinea pigs. Based in Ingleby Barwick we can house either single, pairs or groups of rabbits or guinea pigs in purpose built sheltered accommodation in a fully enclosed, safe, quiet garden. Indoor rabbits and guinea pigs will be looked after in our insulated shed. We can also offer small animal boarding for hamsters, mice, gerbils, chinchillas, degus etc...

We are happy to groom your pet and trim their nails while they are here free of charge.

WE ARE NOT DOG OWNERS, WALKERS OR SITTERS SO THERE ARE NO DOGS ON THE PREMISES.

When did we start Ingleby Bunny Boarding ?

We started up Ingleby Bunny Boarding in June 2012. We decided there was a need for a local bunny boarding service after the previous year when our usual bunny sitter 's holidays overlapped with our own holidays, leaving us with a tough choice to make about who we could ask to look after our bunnies. Though there are many dog walkers/sitter in the area who also care for small animals there were none that exclusively looked after small animals. With many established small animal boarding businesses throughout other areas of the country there was a need for one in Teesside. We were the first dedicated small boarding business to open in the Stockton on Tees area.

We have owned and cared for many pets over the years (cats, dogs, ponies, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits!!), so have experienced nice friendly loving pets, aggressive pets, surprise litters of babies and numerous health problems, including rabbit dental problems, rabbit skin problems and an incontinent guinea pig !!

In October 2012 we expanded the business to cater for indoor rabbits and guinea pigs, and have set up an all weather exercise area outside for days when the lawn is too wet to use.

We are fully insured and documents are available on request. Dawn has also completed a pet first aid course in 2023 and Level 3 NVQ animal management course in 2015.

Where will my bunny or guinea be staying ?

We have a purpose built heated, insulated shed with several 5ft x 2ft hutches for guinea pigs and 8ft x 2ft hutches for rabbits that normally live indoors. The shed is heated during the winter and cooled during the summer. Or 6ft x 3ft outdoor accommodation which meet the RWAF minimum size requirements. We also have 6ft x 2ft hutches in the garage suitable for rabbits or guinea pigs.

What do I need to bring ?

Please bring enough dry food for the duration of your pets stay we dont want to upset any tummys. If your pet is litter trained bring their litter tray, it will smell of home and help them settle in quicker. We provide all bedding and fresh fruit and veg. Bring a brush or comb if  you would like them to be groomed while they are here. Small mammals will need to bring their own cage. Vaccination certificate.

What if my pet becomes ill or dies in your care?

If your pet were to suddenly become ill we would seek immediate advice from either your own vet or ours, and inform you or your emergency contact immediatley. Any vets fees would be payable in full on collection of your pet. In the unlikely event that your pet passed away in our care we would contact you or you emergency contact and carry out your wishes. Again any fees incurred would be payable at your earliest convenience.

"I have used Ingleby Bunny Boarding several times to take care of my Guinea Pigs, and I can not speak highly enough about it. It is a very small price to pay to be absolutely confident that your little pets are being cared for to a high standard. Dawn understands their little personalities, reacts accordingly and goes the extra mile to ensure they are not only looked after, but have an enjoyable experience - as seen by the lovely pictures she posts on Facebook of the little ones loving their stay."
